The Respiratory Therapy department at Hamilton Health Sciences is a team of highly skilled professionals dedicated to providing exceptional respiratory care to critically ill patients. As a Respiratory Therapist - Critical Care Specialist, you will play a vital role in supporting the respiratory needs of patients in our ICU, CCU, and Regional Burn Unit.
Key Responsibilities- Provide specialized respiratory care to adult critical care patients, including ECG interpretations, pressure monitoring, airway management, and mechanical ventilation.
- Collaborate with physicians and RNs to develop and implement individualized respiratory care plans.
- Operate and maintain respiratory, resuscitation, and anesthesia-related equipment.
- Perform venipuncture and vascular access procedures.
- Participate in multidisciplinary rounds and contribute to patient care planning.
- Graduate of an accredited program in Respiratory Therapy.
- Current General Registration with the College of Respiratory Therapists of Ontario (CRTO).
- Successful completion of the Canadian Board of Respiratory Care (CBRC) exam.
- Valid BCLS and ACLS certifications.
- Recent experience (within the last 2 years) in an adult critical care setting.
- Demonstrated skills and ability in ECG interpretations, pressure monitoring, airway management, and mechanical ventilation.
