About the Role
The Receptionist/Scheduler is a key member of our team, responsible for providing exceptional customer service and ensuring the smooth operation of our reception and office procedures. This role requires a high level of organization, attention to detail, and ability to work independently and collaboratively with others.
Responsibilities
Key responsibilities include:
- Providing exceptional customer service to residents, visitors, and staff
- Monitoring and responding to the tenant emergency call system
- Organizing and maintaining all functions of the reception desk
- Booking appointments and meeting rooms for various managers
- Following policies and procedures of the community
- Supporting other departments in an administrative capacity
- Arranging shift coverage for short calls and longer-term planned absences
- Reviewing and reporting unfilled shifts, casual call-in lists, and staff availability concerns
- Assisting the Administrative Coordinators with clerical tasks
- Attending and participating in community and education programs
Qualifications and Skills
Requirements include:
- Grade 12 education or equivalent with recent, two years of related experience
- Ability to plan, organize, and prioritize with multiple critical timelines
- Ability to work independently and in cooperation with others
- Computer literacy with intermediate to advanced Excel and Word
- Basic accounting and payroll experience an asset
- Ability to demonstrate tact, diplomacy, empathy, patience, and concern in providing quality services to residents
- Ability to read, write, and speak English proficiently and understand verbal and written instructions
- All successful applicants must pass the vulnerable sector Criminal Record Check applicable to Provincial guidelines
- Must be in good health, physically able to perform repetitive tasks, lift, squat, bend, stand, and walk as required to perform the duties of the position
