Job Summary

The Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at The University of British Columbia is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Undergraduate Programs Assistant to join our Student Services and Engagement team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing administrative support to our undergraduate programs, ensuring the smooth operation of our department's academic activities. This is an exciting opportunity to work with a diverse group of students, faculty, and staff, and to contribute to the delivery of an exceptional student experience.

Key Responsibilities

Provide administrative support to our undergraduate programs, including course registration, student advising, and academic scheduling.
Assist with the coordination of student events, such as orientation, program information fairs, and graduation ceremonies.
Support the development of programming aimed at engaging ECE undergraduate students and enhancing their overall student experience.
Collaborate with faculty and staff to ensure the delivery of high-quality student services and support.
Provide guidance to ECE student teams on administrative matters, such as event planning and submitting funding requests.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will have a high school diploma, plus one year post-secondary diploma, plus four years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. You will also have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse groups of students, faculty, and staff. Additionally, you will have a demonstrated commitment to enhancing your own awareness, knowledge, and skills related to equity, diversity, and inclusion.
