Job Description

We are seeking a qualified individual to join our Training Department as a Training Officer I. This role is responsible for coordinating and delivering emergency services training activities for the fire department. The successful candidate will research, develop, and deliver specialized technical knowledge through instruction and evaluate individual demonstration and competency in fire suppression, rescue, emergency response, and mitigation disciplines.


Required Skills and Qualifications

To be considered for this position, candidates must possess:

  • Minimum five (5) years emergency response experience
  • Minimum one (1) year of job-related fire service training experience
  • PCP or ACP certification
  • NFPA 1001 Level 1 & 2 certification
  • NFPA 1021 Level 1 Fire Officer certification
  • NFPA 1041 Level 1 Fire Service Instructor certification
  • NFPA 1072 Awareness & Operations certification
  • NFPA 1403 Live Fire Instructor certification (or equivalent)
  • NFPA 1521 Level 1 Safety Officer certification
  • ICS 100 & 200 certification
  • Blue Card Command certification (or equivalent)
  • Experience with lesson plan development
  • Experience with Microsoft Office suite of products

Hours of Work

This position will follow the schedule of the Chief Training Officer, working eight (8) ten (10) hour days in a two-week period. After hours and on-call work may be required to support operations.
