The annual salary for this position is $116,588.25, accompanied by a comprehensive benefit package.


Job Role

We are seeking a skilled Training Officer I to join our Training Department. In this role, you will coordinate and deliver emergency services training activities for the fire department. Your responsibilities will include researching, developing, and delivering specialized technical knowledge through instruction, as well as evaluating individual demonstration and competency in fire suppression, rescue, emergency response, and mitigation disciplines.


Requirements

To be eligible for this position, candidates must have:

  • A minimum of five (5) years of emergency response experience
  • A minimum of one (1) year of job-related fire service training experience
  • Either PCP or ACP certification
  • NFPA 1001 Level 1 & 2 certification
  • NFPA 1021 Level 1 Fire Officer certification
  • NFPA 1041 Level 1 Fire Service Instructor certification
  • NFPA 1072 Awareness & Operations certification
  • NFPA 1403 Live Fire Instructor certification (or equivalent)
  • NFPA 1521 Level 1 Safety Officer certification
  • ICS 100 & 200 certification
  • Blue Card Command certification (or equivalent)
  • Experience with lesson plan development
  • Proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite of products

Working Arrangements

This position follows the schedule of the Chief Training Officer, with eight (8) ten (10) hour days worked within a two-week period. There may be after-hours and on-call requirements to support operations.
