**Job Description**


The Tremont Credit Union is looking for an experienced Underwriting Expert to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for reviewing and analyzing consumer loan applications to make informed credit decisions. You will also provide information on loan products and alternative options to meet borrowers' needs, and communicate effectively with management, loan officers, branch sales staff, and applicants.

**Key Responsibilities**
  • Review credit reports, assets, liabilities, and collateral to determine loan eligibility.
  • Maintain accurate records and reports regarding loan file activity.
  • Assist the loan processing department during peak times as needed.
  • Train and mentor consumer loan processors.
  • Timely completion of own performance evaluation and review of supervised employees' evaluations.

**Requirements**

  • At least three years of consumer loan underwriting experience.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and software applications used by TCU.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
