About the Role:We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Psychiatric Aide to join our team. As a key member of our multi-disciplinary team, you will work closely with nurses and other healthcare professionals to provide exceptional patient care and support.
Key Responsibilities:- Assist nurses with provision of routine care to meet patients' hygiene, nutrition, mobility, recreation, and safety needs
- Participate in organized activities or programs to promote patient engagement and well-being
- Observe and report on patients' mood, health, and well-being
- Maintain effective communication with patients and healthcare professionals
- Assist in maintaining a safe environment for patients, staff, and visitors
We require a combination of education and experience that is satisfactory to the employer. This may include a Grade 12 diploma or equivalent, as well as recent experience (within the past three years) in Addictions and Mental Health.
Candidates must also possess non-violent crisis intervention training, sound observation skills, strong verbal communication skills, and a positive attitude. Additionally, they should be able to work effectively in an Acute Psychiatry setting and demonstrate critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Qualifications:Working knowledge of the CoACT model of care and trauma-informed care would be considered an asset.
Compensation and Benefits:The estimated annual salary for this role is $55,000 - $65,000, depending on experience and qualifications.
