Mental Health Therapist for Youth and Families

This position involves providing mental health services to children and youth, as well as their families. The goal is to empower them to thrive and achieve a brighter future.
As a Child and Youth Counselor at CASA Mental Health, you will be working in a collaborative care model with a multi-disciplinary team. Your role will involve assessing and treating mental health concerns, developing care plans, and facilitating groups for adolescents and parents.
Key Responsibilities
- Assess and treat mental health concerns in children and youth using a holistic and trauma-informed approach.
- Develop and implement individualized care plans that prioritize strengths-based and recovery-oriented goals.
- Facilitate psycho-educational, support, and treatment groups for adolescents and parents.
- Liaise with community services and other professionals involved with the youth and family to ensure advocacy for social inclusion and address social determinants.
- Advocate on behalf of the youth and family as appropriate and promote self-determination and autonomy development.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree that permits registration under the Health Professions Act, with course work in substance use treatment or concurrent disorders and/or work experience or post-graduate training.
- One to two years of substance use counselling experience in a community or tertiary setting is preferred.
- Experience working in collaborative care models and/or with multi-disciplinary teams is preferred.
- Experience in assessment and treatment.
- Experience in managing diverse and complex caseloads.
