Job Summary:

This exciting role as a Mental Health Clinician with Alberta Health Services offers the opportunity to work in a unique position within the Edmonton zone, providing a wide range of experience and opportunities to positively impact the lives of those living with or caring for individuals with addiction and/or mental health concerns.

The successful candidate will join our multidisciplinary team of professionals who provide quality, client-focused, recovery-based, concurrent-capable, culturally appropriate care to those seeking supports/services within Addictions and Mental Health.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform psychosocial intervention utilizing a variety of treatment modalities with persons experiencing significant mental health difficulties
  • Work independently and as a member of a collaborative multidisciplinary team to provide evidence-informed and best practices in crisis intervention, assessment, consultation, referral, and treatment
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to deliver care for the needs of individuals, families, and communities
  • Liaise with various internal and external stakeholders and work collaboratively with other team members as required
  • Participate in program planning, development, and provide supervision to practicum students (as needed)

Requirements:

  • Completion of a master's degree in psychology; a bachelor's degree in social work incorporating education in mental health assessment, brief counseling, and crisis intervention; a master's or bachelor's degree in occupational therapy with similar educational components; a bachelor's degree in nursing with training and experience in mental health assessment, crisis intervention, and brief counseling; or a bachelor's degree in psychiatric nursing
  • Active or eligible for registration with the applicable Alberta regulatory college
  • Minimum of 3 years of relevant addiction and mental health experience providing crisis intervention preferably in a community setting
  • Formal clinical training in triage, intervention, and stabilization preferably in a community setting
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP)
  • Ability to ambulate, climb stairs, and move quickly without limitations in a variety of environments
  • Extensive knowledge of the resources of Addiction and Mental Health and the community

Salary Information:

We are offering an attractive salary of $100,000 per year, commensurate with qualifications and experience. In addition, we offer a comprehensive benefits package, including medical and dental insurance, retirement savings plan, and paid time off.
