About the Role
The Alberta Federation of REAs Ltd. is seeking a dynamic leader to direct the implementation of all AFREA programs and services under the authority of the Board. As CEO, you will be responsible for leading and managing the day-to-day operation of AFREA, including operations, finance, HSE, HR, and governance policy.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the day-to-day operation of AFREA;
- Communicate with member and non-member REAs, government and industry players;
- Act as a resource for the Board of Directors;
- Develop and implement strategic plans to achieve AFREA goals and objectives;
- Monitor industry trends to identify potential risks and opportunities for member REAs.
Required Skills and Experience
The ideal candidate will possess the following:
- Experience and knowledge of the electrical industry (distribution, transmission & generation) including trends, codes, regulations and best practices;
- Excellent leadership skills with the ability to work well with others;
- Strong verbal and written communication skills;
- Understanding of the relevant government initiatives, rural electrical distribution systems and cooperatives.
