About the Opportunity

The Nova Scotia Health Authority is seeking a skilled Respiratory Therapist to join our team. As a key member of our Cardio-Respiratory Department, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the development of our respiratory therapy services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct comprehensive respiratory assessments and develop individualized treatment plans to meet the unique needs of each patient.
  • Implement and evaluate respiratory therapy protocols, ensuring adherence to established standards and guidelines.
  • Collaborate with healthcare teams to provide education and support to patients and their families.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to the development of policies and procedures.
Requirements
  • Graduate of an accredited School of Respiratory Therapy and registered with the Nova Scotia College of Respiratory Therapists.
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support and Neonatal Resuscitation Program Certification or willingness to obtain.
  • Current Heart & Stroke BCLS (Level C) Certification.
  • Member in good standing with the Canadian Society of Respiratory Therapists (CSRT) preferred.
  • Ability to prioritize, problem-solve, and work under pressure.
  • Demonstrated interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
