About the Opportunity

The Nova Scotia Health Authority is seeking a skilled Respiratory Therapist to join our team. As a Respiratory Therapist, you will be responsible for performing assigned duties as required by the Nova Scotia College of Respiratory Therapists' Scope of Practice and Institutional Policy and Procedure.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct assessments, implement treatment plans, and evaluate patient progress in accordance with respiratory therapy care protocols.
  • Obtain patient histories and assess the clinical significance of therapist-driven protocols related to respiratory therapy care.
  • Conduct full respiratory assessments, evaluate progress, and adapt treatment plans according to patient needs and expected outcomes.
  • Implement respiratory discharge plans and ensure seamless transitions of care.
Requirements
  • Graduate of an accredited School of Respiratory Therapy and registered with the Nova Scotia College of Respiratory Therapists.
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support and Neonatal Resuscitation Program Certified or willingness to obtain.
  • Current Heart & Stroke BCLS (Level C) Certification.
  • Member in good standing with the Canadian Society of Respiratory Therapists (CSRT) preferred.
  • Ability to prioritize, problem-solve, and work under pressure of time limitations.
  • Demonstrated interpersonal and communication skills; must be an effective team player.
  • Competencies in other languages an asset, French preferred.
What We Offer
  • Permanent Full-time Position; 75 hours bi-weekly.
  • $40.66 Hourly.
  • Successful candidates may be eligible for our benefits package, including health, dental, travel, long-term disability, and life insurance coverage, as well as a defined benefit pension plan.
  • Successful candidates may also be eligible for a signing bonus and relocation assistance with a defined Return of Service contract.
