About the Role

The Bank of Canada is seeking a highly skilled Visitor Services Coordinator to join our team. As a key member of our Visitor Services team, you will play a central role in delivering exceptional service to our visitors and promoting a better understanding of the Bank's themes and functions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and deliver educational programs onsite and online, coordinating the daily operation of the Museum and answering questions about the Bank's functions and operations.
  • Assist with the development and implementation of curriculum-based educational programs, working closely with the Interpretation and Outreach team.
  • Support the research and development of new learning resources for schools, ensuring that our programs are engaging and effective.
  • Develop, deliver, and provide ongoing training for the VS Team, focusing on best practices for in-person and virtual program delivery.
  • Interpret the history and themes of the Museum, communicating them to the public through guided visits, school programs, exhibitions, workshops, and interactive games.
  • Contribute to the evaluation of visitors' experiences, gathering statistics and working on short-term assignments such as surveying visitors and evaluating Museum programs and services.
  • Assign daily tasks to Museum Guides, ensuring high-quality service in all areas of the Museum.
  • Provide input into the recruitment and performance evaluation of interpretive staff, as well as planning, preparation, and implementation of training programs.

Requirements

  • Post-secondary degree or diploma in a related field, such as education, public history, or museum studies.
  • Minimum one year of work experience coordinating services to the public and a minimum of two years of relevant programming experience in a museum or public setting.
  • Language requirement: English and French essential, with a minimum starting level of functional (level 4) in the second official language.
