About the Role

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Financial Operations Specialist to join our team at Maxi. As a key member of our HR and accounting team, you will be responsible for providing administrative support, maintaining employee databases, and ensuring accurate information.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide HR support to colleagues, including answering questions and resolving issues
  • Be responsible for basic accounting duties, including payroll and accounts payable
  • Be proactive in the recruitment cycle, including job postings, interviews, and orientations
  • Maintain employee databases to ensure accurate information
  • Perform office duties as indicated by the Store Manager
  • Identify and recruit top talent to join our team
  • Build and lead diverse teams that foster a workplace of inclusiveness and belonging
Requirements
  • Familiarity with company systems is an asset
  • Must be available to work days and weekends
  • Demonstrated teamwork and commitment to contributing to team results
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, interpersonal and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent organizational abilities, able to manage multiple priorities
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, sometimes unpredictable environment
  • Computer skills, including PC applications, Outlook/email, and Excel, are an asset
