Financial Transaction Specialist

We’re looking for a skilled Accounting Service Representative to join our team.
This role involves accurately processing and verifying payments received, reconciling bank deposits and verifying deposit totals.
You’ll prepare, compile and dispatch invoices, statements, reports and cheques while recording and posting broker billing statements and payments in the payment register and accounting system.
Reconciling basic accounts and resolving outstanding amounts is also a key responsibility, as is reviewing and resolving daily cash reports, correcting and adjusting journal entries and processing cheque requisitions.
You’ll verify and post banking information, review new business, amend payment schedules, and process premium refunds for accounts.
Resolving issues regarding payments, disbursements, billing arrangements, payment methods and account discrepancies is also a key part of this role.
What You Bring to the Table- A college diploma in accounting or any combination of equivalent education and experience.
- At least 1 year experience in a similar role.
- The ability to consistently perform at a superior level with respect to both the accuracy and volume of work completed.
- Effective communications skills with an emphasis on customer service.
- Strong computer skills or training with standard office applications including strong data entry skills.
- Bilingual (French and English) to interact on a regular basis with an English-speaking clientele and colleagues across the country.
