Job Summary:
Vail Resorts is seeking a highly skilled Sous Chef to join our culinary team. As a key member of our kitchen staff, you will be responsible for managing the culinary team, promoting teamwork, and maintaining food quality and safety.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the culinary team, including hiring, scheduling, training, and developing teammates.
- Maintain standards for facility and food preparation, cleanliness, safety, and sanitation.
- Assist with menu development, production, and training.
- Oversee warehouse staff and operations, including shipping and receiving, inventory ordering, and product rotations.
- Resolve guest issues and complaints, and hold staff accountable for Guest Experience scores.
- Perform administrative duties, including managing budgets and processing transfers.
Requirements:
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent required; Culinary degree or certification preferred.
- ServSafe certification or regional equivalent required.
- 5+ years of kitchen experience required, 1+ year of supervisory experience preferred.
- Ability to stand and walk continuously throughout shift, lift and/or carry up to 50lbs.
- Ability to work well with others in a fast-paced environment under pressure.
- Must be able to communicate fluently in English; bilingual preferred.
