The University of British Columbia seeks an experienced Strategic Wellbeing Initiatives Coordinator to join its Office of Wellbeing Strategy. As a key member of the team, this individual will play a vital role in advancing the university's wellbeing agenda by providing strategic planning, facilitation, and evaluation guidance for institution-wide wellbeing initiatives.
About the RoleThis position is responsible for leading the development and implementation of strategic wellbeing plans and initiatives across the university, working closely with health promotion and wellbeing Directors and colleagues in various portfolios. The successful candidate will have excellent communication and facilitation skills, with the ability to engage diverse stakeholders and navigate complex organizational dynamics.
Duties and Responsibilities- Strategic Planning and Development: Provide leadership and guidance on the implementation of UBC's Wellbeing Strategic Framework (WSF), including the development and implementation of strategic planning processes and tools to analyze and report on progress.
- Stakeholder Engagement and Consultation: Advise and provide strategic planning consultation for units and senior leaders across the institution in the development and implementation of strategic wellbeing plans and institutional initiatives.
- Data Analysis and Reporting: Research, synthesize, analyze, and report on WSF target metric data for the Wellbeing Annual Report, providing insights to inform decision-making and strategic planning.
- Collaboration and Partnership Building: Seek and create opportunities to advance goals of various institutional priorities intersecting with health and wellbeing, including sustainability, climate emergency, reconciliation, Indigeneity, and equity through strategic initiatives and partnerships.
To be successful in this role, the ideal candidate will possess:
- A relevant undergraduate degree and minimum of four to five years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Experience in strategic planning, facilitation, project management, and evaluation, as well as knowledge of issues that impact health and wellbeing.
- Excellent communication and facilitation skills, with the ability to engage diverse stakeholders and navigate complex organizational dynamics.
- Ability to work independently under general guidance from the Director, Office of Wellbeing Strategy, and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and multiple stakeholders.
- A commitment to enhancing one's own awareness, knowledge, and skills related to equity, diversity, and inclusion.
The salary range for this position is approximately $83,000 - $110,000 per annum, depending on experience and qualifications. This estimate is based on industry standards and comparable positions within the province of British Columbia, Canada.
