JTI-Macdonald Corp. is a leading tobacco company in Canada, employing approximately 500 employees across the country. As a Trade Marketing Specialist, you will play a key role in developing the company's market share and volume within your territory.

Position Purpose

The Trade Marketing Specialist assumes a primary role in optimizing product distribution, inventory levels, and pricing at the retail, wholesale, and cash & carry levels within a predefined territory. You will also be responsible for negotiating independent retail contracts and maintaining compliance for key targeted accounts.

Responsibilities

  • Optimize product distribution, inventory levels, and pricing to maximize market share and volume.
  • Negotiate independent retail contracts and maintain compliance for key targeted accounts.
  • Implement retail programs and product launches to improve results and return on investment.
  • Educate the trade to resell JTI-MC products through proper communication of brand attributes and use of trade support tools.
  • Monitor and report compliance of all National and Regional chain agreements in your territory.
  • Regularly engage retail and wholesale customers in conversation regarding their business and general industry trends.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Post-secondary education.
  • Exceptional communication skills.
  • A willingness to participate in decision making with regional management.
  • A full valid license is required.
  • Ability to work effectively and efficiently with limited supervision.
  • Understanding of financial planning and time management.
  • Minimum 2 years experience in FMCG sales.

Skills, Competencies & Languages

  • Solid knowledge and skill level with Microsoft Office products.
  • Sales experience is an asset.
  • French – English is required for this position to effectively communicate and build a strong relationship with retailers.
  • Commercial understanding.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Selling and negotiating skills.
