Job Description

The successful candidate will perform clinical, education, community development, and research activities in keeping with the evidence-based practice of Oncology Nutrition.

You will carry out comprehensive nutrition assessments, identify appropriate nutrition diagnoses, develop and implement patient-centered nutrition intervention, and monitor and evaluate nutrition care plans.

Additionally, you will utilize and incorporate clinical tools, such as screening and assessment tools, according to program standards.

Other key responsibilities include:

  • Implementing and reviewing therapeutic diet orders
  • Designing, compounding, dispensing, and monitoring therapeutic diets
  • Instructing patients on how to administer enteral feeds
  • Providing guidance to Diet Technicians as required
  • Documenting care plans and reassessment in patient's medical record
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will require:

  • A Bachelor of Science in Foods and Nutrition or equivalent from an approved University and an accredited dietetic internship
  • One year of experience in clinical dietetics, with oncology experience preferred or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience acceptable to BC Cancer
  • Licensed with the College of Health and Care Professionals of BC
