Job Title: Instructional Design Specialist

Description

The Instructional Design Specialist is a vital role at Pet Valu, primarily responsible for crafting engaging and effective learning experiences that support the company's organizational training needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop interactive blended learning programs, using a variety of authoring tools and methods to produce engaging solutions for various workplace environments.
  • Support the assessment and identification of training needs aligned with business objectives, working closely with learning managers and teams to confirm course specifications and resolve gaps.
  • Ensure accessibility compliance and course consistency with brand standards, maintaining a high level of quality in all training materials.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to create engaging blended learning experiences for all learners, leveraging expertise in adult learning principles and training best practices.
  • Prioritize competing tasks and deliver projects in a fast-paced changing environment, demonstrating adaptability and a commitment to excellence.
  • Update job aids, facilitator guides, classroom slides, participant guides, and on-the-job training materials, maintaining a thorough understanding of the pet industry and training trends.

Requirements and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree
  • 2-5 years of proven work experience in instructional design and eLearning development
  • Strong knowledge of the Microsoft suite of products and course development software, including Articulate Storyline, Adobe Captivate, and Rise
  • Experience designing and editing with graphic media tools, video, audio, animation, motion graphics, and simulations
  • Strong knowledge of current trends in training and adult learning, with a focus on creating engaging and effective learning experiences
