Your Future Role
The National Account Director will be responsible for managing and developing profitable sales for the customer while partnering with Product Development, Operations, Category Management, Marketing, Demand Planning, and Sales Operations to identify, process, and execute all strategic opportunities from program implementation to day-to-day client management.
In this role, you will drive sales growth through strategic planning and execution, understand clients' needs and ensure customer satisfaction, build and maintain long-term relationships, acting as a trusted advisor, and monitor market trends and competitor activities. You will also identify opportunities for upselling and cross-selling, track key metrics to make informed decisions, prepare regular reports on account status, sales performance, and forecasts, negotiate contracts and agreements, collaborate with internal teams to ensure a unified approach to account management, and provide training and support to clients on new products or services.
Required Skills and Qualifications
To succeed in this role, you will need 5+ years of experience as a National Account Manager specializing in consumer-packaged goods, a successful track record with retail banners such as Home Depot, Rona, Home Hardware, Canadian Tire, Loblaws, Metro, and Sobeys, master of category management principles, customer-oriented mindset, strategic thinking, adaptability and flexibility, strong negotiation and presentation skills, leadership and teamwork, and USA experience - an asset. The ideal candidate will have a passion for sales, a strong understanding of the market, and excellent communication skills.
