Mental Health Specialist

At Homewood Health Centre Inc., we are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Adult Psychiatrist to join our interdisciplinary team. As a key member of our mental health care team, you will have the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the lives of our patients.
Key Responsibilities:- Provide clinical care to assigned patients, including admission, assessment, diagnosis, treatment planning, and discharge.
- Collaborate with other physicians, nursing staff, and allied health professionals to provide optimal patient care.
- Document patient information, including admission history, mental status, diagnostic impression, treatment plan, and weekly progress notes.
- Utilize electronic medical platforms, such as Caseworks and BDM, to ensure accurate and efficient documentation.
- Provide ECT treatment to patients at the Homewood Health Centre, as needed.
- Specialist certification in Psychiatry from the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada (RCPS) or equivalent body.
- Strong ability to negotiate and influence, with proven critical thinking, analysis, and complex problem-solving skills.
- Expertise in fostering integrated care involving both mental health and addictions.
- Commitment to infection prevention and control needs of the hospital.
