Job Title: Equine Care Specialist

Fairway Farms Ltd. is seeking a skilled Equine Care Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our farm operations, you will be responsible for the care and well-being of our horses.

Job Summary:
  • Provide exceptional care and attention to our horses, including grooming, feeding, and exercise.
  • Develop and implement plans to prioritize tasks and ensure efficient farm operations.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of farm safety and bio-security procedures.
  • Perform general farm duties, including cleaning stables, barns, and pens.
  • Set and monitor water lines, air flow, and temperature in barns, pens, and chicken coops.
Responsibilities:
  • Clear and collect brush and debris from fields, pens, and other work areas.
  • Disinfect pens, barns, or poultry houses.
  • Groom horses in preparation for competitions and shows.
  • Handle animals with care and attention to detail.
  • Organize tasks to accomplish the work.
  • Perform animal grooming activities, including feeding and tending to animals.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of farm safety and bio-security procedures.
  • Train horses and maintain work records and logs.
  • Perform general farm duties, including equipment maintenance and repair.
Requirements:
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent oral communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Organized and efficient with a strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing circumstances.
  • Ability to distinguish between colors and have good hand-eye coordination.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and lift heavy loads.
Working Conditions:
