Job Title: Equine Care Specialist

Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled Equine Care Specialist to join our team at Fairway Farms Ltd. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing top-notch care to our horses, including grooming, feeding, and training.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Clear and collect brush and debris from fields, pens, and other work areas
  • Develop specific plans to prioritize tasks and ensure efficient workflow
  • Disinfect pens, barns, or poultry houses to maintain a clean and safe environment
  • Groom horses in preparation for competitions and shows, paying attention to detail and ensuring their overall well-being
  • Handle animals with care and compassion, prioritizing their safety and health
  • Organize tasks to accomplish the work, working independently and as part of a team
  • Perform animal grooming activities, including feeding, tending, and monitoring the health of our horses
  • Assist in the development and implementation of farm safety and bio-security procedures to protect our animals and staff
  • Train horses to enhance their behavior and performance
  • Clean stables, barns, barnyards, and pens to maintain a clean and safe environment
  • Maintain work records and logs to track progress and identify areas for improvement
  • Perform general farm duties, including setting and monitoring water lines, air flow, and temperature in barns, pens, and chicken coops

Requirements:

  • Valid driver's license
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work under pressure and prioritize tasks
  • Physical stamina to perform physically demanding tasks
  • Attention to detail and ability to follow instructions
