Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Equine Care Specialist to join our team at Fairway Farms Ltd. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing top-notch care to our horses, including grooming, feeding, and training. Key Responsibilities
  • Clear and collect brush and debris from fields, pens, and other work areas
  • Develop specific plans to prioritize tasks and ensure efficient use of time
  • Disinfect pens, barns, or poultry houses to maintain a clean and healthy environment
  • Groom horses in preparation for competitions and shows, paying attention to detail and ensuring their overall well-being
  • Handle animals with care and respect, following established protocols and guidelines
  • Organize tasks to accomplish the work, prioritizing safety and efficiency
  • Perform animal grooming activities, including feeding, watering, and providing shelter
  • Perform livestock feeding, ensuring the health and well-being of our animals
  • Assist in the development and implementation of farm safety and bio-security procedures, maintaining a safe and healthy work environment
  • Train horses, using positive reinforcement techniques and building strong relationships with our equine partners
  • Clean stables, barns, barnyards, and pens, maintaining a clean and organized workspace
  • Maintain work records and logs, tracking progress and identifying areas for improvement
  • Perform general farm duties, supporting the overall operation of our farm
  • Set and monitor water lines, air flow, and temperature in barns, pens, and chicken coops, ensuring optimal conditions for our animals
Requirements
  • Valid driver's license
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Physical stamina to perform tasks that require standing, walking, and lifting
  • Attention to detail and ability to follow instructions
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced environment
