Job Title: Equine Care Specialist

Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled Equine Care Specialist to join our team at Fairway Farms Ltd. The successful candidate will be responsible for the care and well-being of our horses, including grooming, feeding, and training.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Clear and collect brush and debris from fields, pens, and other work areas
  • Develop specific plans to prioritize tasks and ensure efficient use of time
  • Disinfect pens, barns, or poultry houses to maintain a clean and safe environment
  • Groom horses in preparation for competitions and shows, paying attention to detail and ensuring their overall health and well-being
  • Handle animals with care and respect, following established protocols and procedures
  • Organize tasks to accomplish the work, prioritizing and delegating as necessary
  • Perform animal grooming activities, including feeding, watering, and providing shelter
  • Perform livestock feeding, ensuring the health and well-being of our animals
  • Assist in the development and implementation of farm safety and bio-security procedures, maintaining a safe and healthy work environment
  • Train horses, using positive reinforcement techniques and established protocols
  • Clean stables, barns, barnyards, and pens, maintaining a clean and safe environment
  • Maintain work records and logs, tracking progress and identifying areas for improvement
  • Perform general farm duties, as required

Requirements:

  • Valid driver's license
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing circumstances
  • Physical stamina to perform tasks that require standing, walking, and lifting
