About the Job
We are seeking a highly skilled CAPITAL PROJECT COORDINATOR to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the delivery of medium to large-scale capital projects, providing technical assistance, and delivering assigned projects as outlined in the City's 10-year Capital Plan.
Responsibilities:
- Receiving, reviewing, and administering all project-related correspondence.
- Distributing relevant correspondence to City stakeholders, project consultants, and construction managers.
- Making timely decisions and taking prompt action on requests or higher authority approvals.
- Adhering to project timelines, schedules, and budgets.
- Providing regular update reports and urgent reports to City Council.
- Project sequence and cost tracking, progress payment processing, and grant-funded claims submissions.
- Receiving quotes and preparing tender documents and specifications for various projects.
- Coordinating and attending project-related meetings, including site meetings, design meetings, user group meetings, and working group meetings.
- Managing contracted staff, providing support to programs, and administering quality assurance for contracted work.
Requirements:
- Completion of a minimum three (3) year accredited architectural, building construction management, project management, or facility management program.
- Minimum of five (5) years' construction management experience.
- Minimum of three (3) years' work experience in a municipal environment or combined equivalent of experience, training, and knowledge of building construction, operations, and maintenance, structural and architectural systems, and energy management strategies.
- Good standing membership in OACETT or equivalent is an asset.
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is an asset.
- Excellent communication and administrative skills.
- Assertive and confident with excellent customer service skills and ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously in team environments.
- Excellent computer skills in Microsoft Excel and Word and AutoCAD with strong focus on financial analysis and economic justification.
- General knowledge of codes and legislation related to building construction technology and excellent organizational and time management skills.
What We Offer
The City of Brantford offers a competitive salary range of $80,000 - $110,000 per year, depending on experience, plus comprehensive benefits, paid training, and professional development opportunities.
