About the Opportunity

In this role, you will be responsible for policy formulation, development, implementation, and compliance monitoring. You will also contribute to the development and implementation of strategic and business planning processes. This position reports to the Director, Court Services.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Provide leadership in policy development, implementation, and monitoring by identifying policy requirements, formulating policy change, and updating policy and procedure manuals.
  2. Oversee ongoing staff training to ensure policies and procedures align with legislation and are consistently applied.
  3. Ensure the uniform application of policies, procedures, and operational standards, providing guidance to the Court Services Management Team and other divisional staff.
  4. Lead the strategic and business planning process, developing and implementing strategic and business plans, performance indicators, and electronic tracking processes for accountability reporting.
  5. Ensure compliance with service delivery and program standards by fielding and responding to complaints regarding Court Services operations and conducting operational audits.
  6. Contribute to the ongoing relevance and appropriateness of Court Services Division operations by ensuring amendments to relevant provincial and federal legislation are reflected in policies and procedures.
  7. Assist in the effective management of Court Services Division by identifying issues and trends in the administration of justice and initiating, developing, and implementing resources and special projects to address emerging concerns.
Qualifications and Experience

To be considered for this opportunity, you must have a University Degree in a related discipline with several years of justice experience. An acceptable equivalent combination of education, training, and experience may be considered. Demonstrated experience in policy analysis and development is essential, as is previous experience in organizational development, project management, and change management in a client-focused organization.

The successful candidate will possess excellent communication skills, particularly in writing policy and procedure, and proficiency with Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word. Self-directed behavior, analytical and conceptual thinking, and innovative approaches to problem-solving are also essential.

You will have strong communication and interpersonal skills, allowing you to interact effectively with Department representatives, Court Administrators, supervisors, and staff across the province, as well as the judiciary, legal community, police, and other enforcement agencies.

Pay Grade: EC 10 Salary Range: $63,000 - $83,000 Bi-Weekly
