About the Job

We are seeking a skilled Tile Setter to join our team at Bridgewater Tile Ltd. As a Tile Setter, you will be responsible for preparing, measuring, and marking surfaces to be covered with tile, as well as mixing, applying, and spreading mortar, cement, mastic, glue, or other adhesives using a hand trowel.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare rough plans and sketches to ensure accurate tile placement
  • Set tiles in place and apply pressure to affix them to the base
  • Align and straighten tiles to ensure a professional finish
  • Cut and fit tiles around obstacles and openings using hand and power cutting tools
  • Pack grout into joints between tiles and remove excess grout
  • Remove and replace cracked or damaged tiles
  • Lay and set mosaic tiles to create decorative wall, mural, and floor designs
  • Cut, surface, polish, and install marble and granite
  • Mix, lay, and polish terra surfaces
  • Install tile strips
Work Environment

This is a physically demanding role that requires the ability to handle heavy loads, bend, crouch, and kneel. You must also be able to distinguish between colors and have attention to detail.

Requirements
  • 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in tile setting
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
