About Our Opportunity

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Senior Project Coordinator to join our Southern Ontario FMO team at Black & McDonald. This exciting role will provide an excellent opportunity for you to build a strong foundation in project management and facilities administration.

As a key member of our team, you will assist the Facility/Project Manager(s) with overall administrative direction for one large or several smaller facilities management projects. You will play a crucial role in managing costs, schedules, and project status while maintaining exceptional relationships with employees, subcontractors, consultants, and clients.

The ideal candidate will have 2-3 years of experience in the construction or facilities management industries. You should possess a university or college degree in electrical engineering, construction engineering technology, construction project management, or equivalent. Facilities Management or PMP Designation(s) are considered assets.

A successful candidate will be highly organized, able to prioritize tasks efficiently, and maintain accurate records. Strong communication and problem-solving skills are essential in this role. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications is also required.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in drafting and issuing project budgets and preliminary schedules.
  • Keep stakeholders informed about project status and potential issues that may impact client relations.
  • Schedule and oversee technicians and subcontractors for corrective maintenance tasks and repair work.
  • Use project scheduling and control tools to monitor project plans, work hours, budgets, and expenditures.
  • Track progress and quality of work being performed by design disciplines/trades.
  • Maintain Contract Execution Tracking Log.
  • Conduct site inspections, work audits, and other assessments to verify work.
  • Prepare substantial completion certificates and ensure all required project close-out documents are obtained.
  • Ensure implementation of environmental, health, safety, security, and quality assurance programs as per internal/client specific policies and local codes and regulations.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 2-3 years' experience in the construction or facilities management industries.
  • University or college degree in electrical engineering, construction engineering technology, construction project management, or equivalent.
  • Facilities Management or PMP Designation(s) considered assets.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.

Estimated Salary: $65,000 - $80,000 per year (depending on experience)
