About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Executive Chef to join our culinary team at Elk + Avenue Hotel. As a key member of our kitchen staff, you will be responsible for leading our culinary team and ensuring that our guests receive an exceptional dining experience.

Key Responsibilities
  • Menu Planning and Execution
    • Develop and implement menus that showcase our hotel's culinary expertise and appeal to a wide range of tastes and dietary preferences.
    • Work closely with our culinary team to ensure that all menu items are prepared to the highest standards of quality and presentation.
  • Culinary Leadership
    • Lead and motivate our culinary team to achieve exceptional results and maintain a positive and productive work environment.
    • Provide guidance and training to junior chefs and kitchen staff to ensure that they have the skills and knowledge needed to succeed in their roles.
  • Food Safety and Quality Control
    • Ensure that all food is prepared and served in a safe and healthy environment, adhering to all relevant health and safety regulations.
    • Conduct regular quality control checks to ensure that all menu items meet our high standards of quality and presentation.
  • Inventory Management and Cost Control
    • Manage inventory levels and ensure that all ingredients and supplies are ordered and stored efficiently.
    • Monitor and control food costs to ensure that they are within budget and that we are achieving the best possible value for our guests.
Requirements
  • Education and Experience
    • 3 years to less than 5 years of experience as a senior chef in a high-volume hotel or restaurant environment.
    • Degree in culinary arts or related field.
  • Skills and Qualifications
    • Proven track record of success in menu planning, culinary leadership, and food safety and quality control.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with a diverse team of chefs, kitchen staff, and hotel management.
    • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to think critically and make sound decisions in a fast-paced environment.
