Job Overview

The Canadian Armed Forces is seeking a skilled Weapons Engineering Technician to join their team. As a key member of the naval operations, you will be responsible for the maintenance and repair of complex electronic systems, including radar and communications equipment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor and evaluate electronic equipment to ensure optimal performance
  • Perform diagnostic analysis and repair faulty electronic components
  • Inspect, maintain, and install electronic components
  • Compile logs and reports to document maintenance activities
  • Read and interpret electronic drawings to troubleshoot and repair systems

Requirements

  • Canadian citizenship or permanent residency
  • Grade 10 or Secondaire IV education
  • Related civilian trade or diploma

Training and Development

As a Weapons Engineering Technician, you will undergo comprehensive training at the Naval Fleet School Pacific or Atlantic, covering topics such as electrical and electronics theory, communications theory, and radar theory. You will also have opportunities for specialized training and professional development throughout your career.

Work Environment

You will spend most of your career on board ships with home ports in Halifax, Nova Scotia, or Esquimalt, British Columbia. You will work regular day shifts, with occasional out-of-occupation duties such as cleaning, painting, and loading supplies.
