About Our Opportunity

This role offers the chance to provide high-level administrative support to the Courts Administrator and management team at the Halifax Law Courts.

As an experienced secretarial and administrative professional, you will be responsible for a variety of tasks including responding to inquiries, preparing correspondence and reports, maintaining filing systems, and providing general office support.

Primary Accountabilities
  • Provide administrative support to the Courts Administrator and management team, including answering phone calls, responding to emails, and preparing correspondence and reports.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date filing systems, both physical and electronic.
  • Order supplies and equipment as needed, and maintain the stock room for support staff and judges.
  • Ensure that all purchases are accounted for and posted to the budget in a timely manner.
  • Maintain personnel files for staff who report to the Courts Administrator.
Required Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will require excellent typing, transcribing, organizational, administrative, and interpersonal skills. You must also be proficient in Microsoft Suite programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook). Familiarity with financial transactions and invoicing, accounts payable, and working with vendors is required. A high school diploma or equivalent is required, and experience in a legal setting is preferred.

Benefits

This permanent full-time position offers a competitive salary range of $1,684.00 - $1,884.17 bi-weekly, based on a 35 hour work week.
