Job Description

Tomlinson Group of Companies is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Technology Director to lead our technology strategy and drive business growth.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Technology Strategy and Roadmap: Develop and champion the overall technology strategy and roadmap to align all corporate technology initiatives with internal business leaders and their objectives, driving standardized innovation.
  • Day-to-Day IT Operations: Manage day-to-day IT operations, software development, full stack technology portfolio, and team, ensuring the stability and security of technology systems and infrastructure.
  • AI and Data Initiatives: Work with AI, Data, and cross-functional teams to implement AI projects that enhance decision-making processes and drive business growth.
  • ERP and Business Process Improvement: Oversee and develop ERP Center of Excellence, line of business application portfolio, project initiatives to streamline business processes, improve operational efficiency, and support strategic decision-making.
  • Technology Evaluation and Integration: Lead the evaluation of key technologies to identify opportunities for integration and enhancement, ensuring alignment with strategic plans and growth objectives.
  • Project Management: Manage technology budgets and timelines for projects, ensuring projects are delivered on time and within budget.
  • Knowledge Transfer and Training: Ensure documented processes and best practices to facilitate knowledge transfer and ensure efficient utilization of technology resources across the organization.
  • Team Leadership: Build and grow the team to ensure that appropriate resources are in place to meet our objectives, ensuring productive use of our systems.
  • Compliance and Security: Ensure compliance with industry regulations and standards, with a focus on security, safety, and environmental sustainability.
  • Information Security Strategy: Lead the development and implementation of the organization's information security strategy, policies, and procedures to safeguard company data and assets.
  • Vendor and Partner Management: Collaborate with external vendors and partners to evaluate new technologies and negotiate contracts to support business objectives.
  • Digital Transformation: Drive the adoption of services and digital platforms to enhance scalability and flexibility in IT operations.
  • Industry Trends and Emerging Technologies: Stay current on industry trends and emerging technologies to drive continuous innovation and improvement within the organization.
  • Security Assessments and Audits: Ensure the conduct of regular security assessments and audits to identify vulnerabilities and ensure implementation of measures to mitigate risks.
  • Culture of Security Awareness: Collaborate with internal teams to promote a culture of security awareness and compliance with information security policies.
  • Emerging Technologies and Adoption: Stay ahead of the latest advancements in emerging technologies, evaluating their potential impact on the business, and recommending adoption strategies to achieve a competitive advantage.
Qualifications:
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
  • Leadership Experience: Proven track record of leading successful technological initiatives.
  • Industry Experience: Industry-related experience an asset.
  • Complex Initiative Leadership: Demonstrated track record in leading complex initiatives and implementing significant enterprise changes with proven proficiency in organizational and interpersonal change management.
  • Technology Development Experience: Experience directing technology development efforts, new technology solution builds, and technical integration projects.
  • Team Integration Experience:
  • Leadership and Communication Skills: Excellent leadership, communication, and strategic planning skills to collaborate effectively with stakeholders and drive digital transformation within the organization.
  • Technical Knowledge: Strong knowledge of AI, ERP, IT infrastructure, data management/governance, and information security best practices.
  • Leadership Experience: Experience leading day-to-day IT operations, software development, overseeing the implementation of AI projects, and ERP initiatives, and leading information security efforts.
  • Strategic Thinking: Strategic thinker with a results-driven mindset and a passion for innovation.
