Job Title: Litigation Legal Assistant

We are seeking a highly skilled and organized Litigation Legal Assistant to join our team at Linds & Associates. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the daily operations of our legal practices, with a primary focus on Bankruptcy & Insolvency and a secondary focus on Commercial Litigation.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage the daily operation of two legal practices, ensuring efficient and effective workflow.
  • Prepare, edit, and complete all necessary correspondence and documentation.
  • Assist with the finalization of various litigation documents for the Commercial Courts, including motion records, pleadings, notices, affidavits, and bill of costs.
  • Take initiative to maintain file organizations for assigned lawyers.
  • Produce high-quality work, including sending out demands or legal letters to opposing counsel.
  • Handle daily administrative details, including calendar management and confidential matters.
  • Manage duties related to accounting and be accountable for all work assigned.
Requirements:
  • Minimum of two years' previous experience as a Legal Assistant in Litigation.
  • Successful completion of a related post-secondary Legal Assistant or Law Clerk program.
  • Excellent knowledge of the Rules of Civil Procedure.
  • Knowledge of the Bankruptcy and Insolvency Act and the Companies' Creditors Arrangement Act would be considered an asset.
  • Experience submitting and formatting materials for the Ontario Superior Court of Justice (Commercial List) would be considered an asset.
  • Previous experience with ACL is considered an asset.
  • Ability to handle time pressure situations and stress of multiple demands.

  • Organized and detail-oriented.
