Job Summary:

Kent Legal, a leading Toronto law firm, is seeking a highly skilled Litigation Assistant to join their team. As a Litigation Assistant, you will play a critical role in supporting the firm's litigation practice, ensuring the smooth operation of legal files, and providing exceptional support to lawyers and clients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage electronic organization of all correspondence documents in the document management system
  • Open, close, and maintain legal files
  • Liaise with Billing Coordinators for the monthly production of accounts
  • Draft routine correspondence
  • Prepare and maintain a bring-forward system
  • Prepare legal documents and court materials
  • Schedule appointments and web meetings, conference calls, and manage calendars for lawyers
  • Maintain electronic filing system

Requirements:

  • Law Clerk or Legal Assistant Diploma
  • 4+ years of experience as a Litigation Legal Assistant
  • Must know rules and practice direction
  • Ability to work with all levels of court
  • Skilled at managing priorities to hit multiple deadlines
  • Skills with MS Office, CMS, InterAction, and ACL
  • Excellent communication skills, written and verbal
  • Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality when interacting with clients
