Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Litigation Assistant to join our team at Kent Legal. As a Litigation Assistant, you will provide administrative and clerical support to our lawyers, ensuring the smooth operation of our litigation practice.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide legal administrative and clerical support to lawyers
  • Schedule meetings, conferences, and travel arrangements
  • Draft and edit correspondence and legal documents
  • Manage calendars for lawyers
  • Assist in preparation for hearings and trials
  • Liaise with billing coordinators for monthly account production
  • Schedule examinations for discovery, mediations, and court appointments
  • Prepare and maintain a bring-forward system
  • Maintain electronic filing systems
  • Liaise with courts and clients
  • Manage workflow of files from beginning to end

Requirements:

  • 3+ years of experience working as a Litigation Legal Assistant
  • Post-secondary education in a Legal Assistant/Administration program or equivalent required
  • Law Clerk certificate not required but will be considered an asset
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, legal software, and applications
  • Excellent communication skills, written and verbal
  • Solid attention to detail and time management and multitasking skills
  • Ability to prioritize and meet urgent deadlines
