Cruise Dining Director

About the Opportunity:
Hornblower Cruises and Events is seeking a seasoned professional to lead our restaurant operations on board our cruises. As a Restaurant Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the entire dining experience, ensuring that our guests receive exceptional service and enjoy a memorable experience.
Key Responsibilities:
- Direct and oversee all activities of the dining cabin and galley to ensure high-quality food and drinks, hospitable and efficient customer service, and profitable operations.
- Develop and execute programs that improve the level of service and product quality.
- Track and adjust performance onboard based on quality scores from guests.
- Delegate pre-cruise and post-cruise duties to staff and follow up on completed tasks.
- Lead by example, maintaining the highest level of professionalism, integrity, and sound work habits.
- Ensure appropriate staffing levels and direct on-floor monitoring of all front staff.
- Develop strong teamwork within the crew and assist in hiring, training, development, and retention of all restaurant shipmates.
- Manage FOH payroll for multiple vessels as needed.
Requirements and Qualifications:
- Minimum of three (3) years restaurant supervision experience.
- Hospitality or Culinary degree, preferred.
- Smart Serve Certificate required.
- Food Handler's Certificate required.
- Ability to successfully manage front-line restaurant staff, communicate effectively in oral and written form, train, develop, and motivate staff, analyze and solve problems, and read, write, and speak English to comprehend and communicate job functions.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities/tasks, establish and maintain effective working relationships, provide advice/opinion and exercise discretion concerning confidential and sensitive matters, listen effectively, assess situations, determine relevant issues, identify solutions, and gain consensus.
- Ability to reach, bend, stoop, wipe, push, pull, move or lift up to 40 lbs (18 kg).
