Advanced Manufacturing Engineer-Stamping/Casting

We are seeking an experienced Advanced Manufacturing Engineer to join our team at Waterford Executive. This is a fantastic opportunity to work with a global Tier 1 & 2 automotive manufacturer of components and assemblies to the automotive and other industrial markets.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Process Design and Implementation: Develop, evaluate, and improve manufacturing methods, utilizing knowledge of product design, materials and parts, fabrication processes, tooling and production equipment capabilities, assembly methods, and quality control standards.
  • Automation: Design, build and implement automation to improve production efficiency and quality.
  • Cost Reduction and Efficiency Improvement: Identify and implement cost reduction opportunities and plan, implement to enhance operational efficiency.
  • Quality Assurance: Work closely with the quality assurance team to ensure that manufacturing processes meet industry standards and product specifications.
  • Equipment Selection and Maintenance: Make technical decisions regarding the purchase of new manufacturing equipment. Coordinate maintenance and repair of manufacturing equipment to ensure minimal downtime.
  • Continuous Improvement: Apply lean manufacturing and six sigma principles to eliminate waste, improve processes, and reduce variability in production.
  • Documentation and Compliance: Develop and maintain manufacturing documentation, such as process flow charts, work instructions, and standard operating procedures (SOPs). Ensure compliance with safety regulations and environmental standards.
  • Collaboration and Support: Work with product development engineers to integrate new products into the manufacturing process. Provide technical support and training to production staff.
Qualifications:
  • A Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field is required.
  • Minimum 10 years of proven shop floor/plant floor manufacturing engineering experience from within the Automotive industry.
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, equipment, and technology.
  • Experience with CAD software and proficiency in designing manufacturing layouts.
  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Excellent problem-solving, and analytical skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work in a team environment.
  • Willingness to travel as needed to support manufacturing operations at other sites or to evaluate new technologies and equipment.
