About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Cook to join our team at Roberta Place Retirement. As a key member of our culinary team, you will be responsible for preparing and cooking complete meals or individual dishes and foods for our residents.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare and cook a variety of dishes, including meals and snacks, to meet the dietary needs of our residents.
  • Inspect kitchens and food service areas to ensure cleanliness and safety standards are met.
  • Train and supervise kitchen staff and helpers to ensure they are following proper food handling and preparation procedures.
  • Order supplies and equipment as needed to maintain a well-stocked kitchen.
  • Maintain accurate inventory and records of food, supplies, and equipment.
  • Clean and maintain kitchen and work areas to ensure a safe and healthy environment.
Requirements
  • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
  • 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in a kitchen or food service environment.
  • Safe Food Handling certificate.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.
  • Physical stamina to stand for extended periods and lift heavy objects.
