Event Coordinator

Job Summary
The University of Waterloo is seeking an Event Coordinator to join our team. This role will be responsible for planning and executing events, as well as coordinating activities within the Communications and Strategic Initiatives (CSI) team.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate internal meetings and tours with government, corporate, and university officials, preparing materials as needed.
- Provide administrative support to the CSI team, including booking travel, facilities, and catering, preparing presentations and reports, and attending to special requests.
- Support the CSI team's finance and budgeting process, including assisting with the annual budget preparation, processing vendor invoices, and creating purchase orders.
- Manage logistics for events, including venue liaison, parking requirements, and RSVP processes.
- Assist with event planning, execution, and wrapping-up, including coordinating with vendors, exhibitors, and stakeholders.
Qualifications
- Completion of a Bachelor's degree or equivalent.
- 3+ years of experience in event management and planning, as well as administrative and operations roles.
- Preference given to candidates with experience in an educational institution.
- Excellent organizational, coordination, and project management skills.
- Ability to build agreement without relying solely on authority.
- Outstanding verbal and written communication skills.
