As an Assistant Store Manager with Sporting Life, you will be responsible for managing all aspects of the selling team to ensure exceptional customer service and operational standards are achieved.

Some of your key responsibilities will include:

  • ","
  • Leading by example and providing exceptional customer service to Sporting Life's internal and external customers.
    ","
  • Assisting the Store General Manager with sales and profit achievement, P&L management, inventory management, productivity and staff performance, control of assets, and staff recruitment and selection.
    ","
  • Coaching and developing Department Managers and sales team to provide exceptional customer service.
    ","
  • Motivating and leading Department Managers and staff regarding selling skills, store cleanliness, departmental job lists, health and safety practices, employee relations, and compliance with Sporting Life policies and procedures.
    ","
  • Conducting effective and motivational daily huddles, and daily coaching with Department Managers to create an environment of high-performance.
    ","
  • Participating in Management Training & PK Sessions, and monitoring required training completion and reporting within required time frames.
    ","

  • ","
  • 3-4 years of senior retail management experience, in a comparable volume store, with P&L responsibility.
    ","
  • Superior communication skills; able to communicate effectively at all levels.
    ","
  • Proven leadership skills with the ability to motivate and train team to achieve desired outcomes.
    ","
  • Strong sense of urgency in dealing with business and staff needs.
    ","
  • Strong multi-tasking and time management skills.
    ","
  • Ability to think in a disciplined and logical manner in an ever-changing environment.
