About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Human Resources Coordinator to join our team at the University of Saskatchewan's Veterinary Medical Centre. As a key member of our HR team, you will provide high-level support and coordination to our clinic, ensuring the smooth operation of our human resources function.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide recruitment support, including creating job profiles, job advertisements, and interview guides.
  • Coordinate the onboarding process for new employees, including orientation and training.
  • Develop and maintain HR systems, documents, and resources for the clinic.
  • Ensure compliance with collective agreements, labour legislation, employment law, and university policies and procedures.
  • Act as a first point of contact for queries, issues, and concerns.
  • Build and maintain exceptional working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Provide generalist HR support, including addressing day-to-day employer and employee issues and concerns.
  • Assist in the implementation of HR programs and projects.
  • Develop and maintain metrics and analytics as required.
Requirements
  • A relevant University degree, preferably in Human Resources or a related field.
  • A minimum of two (2) years of generalist Human Resources experience, preferably in a diverse and inclusive environment.
  • Experience working in a unionized environment and familiarity with university systems such as PAWS, AboutUS, ATS, and UniFi are assets.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, exemplary interpersonal skills, and a high standard of professional integrity in handling sensitive information.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of MS Office Suite (including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) and strong internet research skills.
