Nurse Regional Practice Resource Specialist

- **Registration Requirements**: Possess a practicing RN registrant status with the BC College of Nurses and Midwives.
- **Specialized Knowledge**: Hold Canadian Nurses Association (CNA) certification for Nurses who specialize in Wound, Ostomy and Continence, or completion of the International Interdisciplinary Wound Care Program or Masters in Wound Healing.
- **Education and Training**: Post-secondary courses in Adult Education, Process Improvement and/or Change Management.
- **Experience**: Three (3) or more years of direct experience in adult education, quality improvement and/or policy/procedural development.
- **Indigenous Relations**: Experience working with Indigenous groups and fostering Indigenous relations with a focus on Truth and Reconciliation Calls to Actions.
- **Knowledge of Legislation**: Familiarity with program relevant legislation, policies and standards.
- **Gerontological Issues**: Knowledge of current, evidence-based gerontological issues and standards.
- **Driver's License**: Possess a valid BC Driver's License.
- **Equivalent Combination**: An equivalent combination of training and experience may be considered.
- **Leadership**: Ability to provide leadership to staff and peers.
- **Independence**: Ability to work independently.
- **Interpersonal Skills**: Effective interpersonal, organizational and teaching skills.
- **Communication**: Ability to communicate with clients and their families, physicians and colleagues from within Island Health as well as external organizations.
- **Verbal and Written Communication**: Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
- **Physical Ability**: Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position.
