The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills, empathy, and a non-judgmental attitude.
Key Responsibilities- Provide individualized support to clients, addressing their unique needs and challenges.
- Connect clients with local resources and services, facilitating their access to essential goods and services.
- Collaborate with other agencies and organizations to ensure a comprehensive support network for clients.
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A certificate in mental health first aid or equivalent experience.
- Non-violent Crisis Intervention (NVCI) certification or willingness to obtain it.
- Familiarity with cultural awareness training and its application in a community setting.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- An ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
This position is based in a shelter environment, working closely with clients who are experiencing homelessness. A criminal record check will be required prior to employment.
CompensationThe estimated annual salary for this role is $45,000 - $50,000 CAD, depending on qualifications and experience. Benefits may also be available, including opportunities for professional development and growth within the organization.
