Unit Clerk, Oncology Clinic Specialist

About the Role:
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Unit Clerk to join our Oncology Clinic team. As a Unit Clerk, you will play a vital role in providing administrative support to our healthcare team, ensuring the smooth operation of our clinic.
Key Responsibilities:
- Transcribe and process clinician orders, completing and forwarding requisitions for tests or services.
- Organize diagnostic and therapeutic services for patients, coordinating interrelated appointments and preparing related instructions.
- Gather patient information for medical appointments, assisting in facilitating an efficient patient flow.
- Perform receptionist duties, greeting and registering patients, and supporting wayfinding.
- Participate in the onboarding and orientation of staff, demonstrating work procedures and answering related queries.
- Maintain a safe environment for patients, families, and staff, adhering to safety policies and standards.
Requirements:
- Grade 12, medical terminology, and graduation from a recognized Nursing Unit Clerk Program, plus one year's recent, related experience.
- Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
- Ability to deal with others effectively.
- Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position.
- Ability to keyboard 40 wpm.
- Ability to organize work.
- Ability to operate related equipment.
- Ability to utilize a variety of computer software applications.
