About the Role

Wawanesa is seeking a highly skilled Strategic Business Development Lead to join its team in Canada. As a key member of the business development team, you will be responsible for leading and managing the business development process to ensure mutual satisfaction and success between Wawanesa and its brokerage network.

In this role, you will develop staff proficiency, establish and achieve targeted business goals with contracted brokers and team members, and identify opportunities to grow the business with new brokerages and territories within the region.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide management, direction, and development to the region business development team.
  • Develop, lead, and monitor marketing campaigns and business development initiatives.
  • Identify opportunities and assist in the review of non-contracted brokerages and territories to achieve growth and production plans.
  • Work effectively with the region's functional departments and management teams to achieve plans and goals.
Requirements
  • 10 years of insurance experience or relevant business development experience.
  • Excellent planning and organizing skills involving goal setting and results measurement.
  • Excellent presentation and training skills.
  • Understanding and exposure to product development, pricing, and implementation would be considered an asset.
Compensation

The estimated annual salary for this role is $120,000 - $150,000 CAD, depending on experience and qualifications.
