Strategic Business Development Associate

Job Overview:

Westburne, the Canadian market leader in electrical distribution, seeks a Strategic Business Development Associate to collaborate with our National Accounts team. The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of account management experience and a proven track record of success.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage multiple accounts and develop positive working relationships with customer touch points.
  • Develop trusted advisor relationships with key accounts and customer stakeholders.
  • Promote ecommerce and multi-channel strategies with key accounts and customer stakeholders.
  • Assist in the management of the client price book.
  • Manage cost savings for the client.
  • Perform market analysis and identify high potential markets, trends, and opportunities.
  • Develop, manage, and monitor annual business plans to be reviewed with management.
  • Engage with account managers and conduct joint calls to existing and prospective clients.
  • Prepare and formally present business performance reviews to national clients.
  • Conduct semi-annual meetings with key suppliers and verticals to develop action plans specific to market or clients.
  • Support agreement renewals and negotiations where required with client's procurement, legal, and risk team.
  • Manage the coordination and delivery of large industrial projects.
Requirements:
  • 5+ years of account management experience with a proven track record of success.
  • Degree or diploma in business administration, sales, or equivalent work experience.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to lead, manage teams, and communicate effectively virtually, verbally, and written.
  • Experience in project management.
  • Excellent communication skills including listening, negotiation, public speaking, and virtual presenting.
  • Excellent computer skills including high proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
  • Even mannered and able to organize and manage time under stress.
  • Proven ability to juggle multiple account management projects at a time while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Must possess a valid driver's license.
