In this challenging role as a Strategic Business Development Manager, you will play a key part in driving the growth and profitability of The North West Company's private brand category. Your responsibilities will include defining strategic, tactical, and financial plans to ensure the success of our private label assortment.

Your Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with Senior Category Managers to align private brand strategies across Food and General Merchandise.
  • Analyze market potential and competitor positions for private brands.
  • Work closely with Category Management teams to optimize assortments and improve in-store merchandising.
  • Oversee sales, gross margin, and gross profit performance of Private Brands.
  • Continuously monitor sales, margins, and inventory performance for private brands.
  • Support Senior CMs and the VP in developing departmental budgets and private label penetration targets.
  • Foster strong relationships with suppliers to drive sales and profitable growth for Private Brands.
  • Work with the NCR Marketing team to develop marketing materials for Private Brands.
  • Analyze promotional performance and identify new opportunities to enhance private brand offerings.

About You:

  • You have a Post-secondary education in Commerce, Marketing, or Supply Chain Management.
  • You have 5+ years of experience in a category management role.
  • You have experience in Private Brand management, which is considered a strong asset.
  • You are proficient in MS Office Suite, particularly Excel.
  • You possess strong facilitation, influencing, and relationship management skills.
  • You have exceptional project management, analytical, and decision-making skills.
  • You are able to manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining excellent organizational and time management skills.
