We are seeking a highly skilled Maintenance Technician I to join our team at Wayfair. As a key member of our facilities team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our warehouse and distribution centers.
Key Responsibilities- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on equipment, machinery, and facilities to ensure optimal performance and safety.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues with conveyor systems, electrical, plumbing, mechanical, and fire protection systems.
- Assist with projects related to facilities, including renovations, upgrades, and new installations.
- Operate aerial platform lifts, boom/snorkel lifts, and powered industrial trucks safely and efficiently.
- Complete work orders, records, logs, and other written or computer-based documents accurately and on time.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, including tools, supplies, and equipment.
- Travel to other Wayfair sites up to 20% of the time to support maintenance and repair activities.
- Minimum 1 year experience in industrial maintenance or relevant certification(s).
- Experience with basic carpentry, including painting, drywall, cleaning, and basic maintenance.
- Proficient in using hand and power tools, electrical testing equipment, and PLC systems.
- Proficient in using computer systems and CMMS software.
- Experience safely using warehouse equipment, such as order pickers, pallet jacks, forklifts, and aerial lifts.
- Ability to regularly bend, lift, stretch, crawl, and reach, engage in full manual dexterity in both hands and wrists, and stand and walk for long periods.
- Ability to access all areas of the building by climbing ladders and gangways safely and without limitation.
- Ability to work in a non-climate-controlled environment that can be noisy and have low lighting levels.
- Follow all company safety policies, procedures, and guidelines.
- Ability to work independently, as part of a team, and take direction.
- Must be a safety-conscious, motivated, detail-oriented, self-starter with a positive attitude.
- Must be flexible on working hours and willing to work scheduled and unscheduled overtime.
